There is somewhat of a happy ending for this story. Veronica Mars, a scrappy, upstart show that no-one expected to gain the popularity that it did, blasted through three popular seasons of neo-noir nonsense starring Kristen Bell as the daughter of a respected detective. A fun, thrilling, and lauded series, fans were understandable disappointed(/riotous) when they discovered theta the show was being pulled. But then, thanks to the magic of Kickstarter and a lot of very generous fans, creator and writer Rob Thomas was able to raise $2 million to launch the production of a Veronica Mars movie, also starring Bell. The film was released in March 2014 and fans everywhere found their need for closure sated- even though Kristen Bell has already confirmed her involvement in the upcoming sequel. Some series get all the fun.
