3. Eagle vs Shark

Ah, something a bit lighter at last. Well, the real reason this film didn’t make it big is because it was’t what audiences were expecting- with the brains behind Flight of the Conchords on script duty and starring Jermaine Clement, there weren’t out of order to think they were getting a big, feature-length chunk of silliness. The introspective love story didn’t sit well with many, even though it’s a more delicate, accomplished and intelligent movie than many give it credit for.

    I am perplexed that while some of these are horror movies that are certainly very good, and a couple of them Australian, that there is no mention of “The Snowtown Murders”. Both disturbing and compelling, the movie is based on true events and leaves the viewer far more disturbed than the excellent “Wolf Creek”.

    One of my favorite movies of all time is “Big Man on Campus.” If you happened to catch it on TV as a kid chances are you can still quote the whole movie. Got a 6 out of 10 on IMdb, despite being virtually unknown.
