Perhaps fitting more comfortably into the pocket of slasher movies than straight-up horrors, this adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis’ vicious satire of the same name set many people off yuppies 9and Huey Lewis and The News) for decades to come. An excellent performance from a young Christian Bale as the eponymous Psycho pushes the film past simple gory murder and into a surreal, disturbing flight of fancy that won’t get out of your head for weeks.
