7. The Matrix
Okay, so the philosophising might not be to everyone’s taste, but you’ve got to admit that the Wachowskis sure know how to put a scene together. Everyone is tight leather this and perfectly timed that as Keanu Reeves engages the sinister Hugo Weaving in a battle of wills (and fists) inside the physics-bending world of the Matrix. Groundbreaking visuals still look awe-inspiring now. Although the science-fiction stuff might not be to everybody’s taste, there’s something to marvel at here for everyone.
