If you’re looking for something a little heftier with your dinner this year, I’d suggest A Most Wanted Man. Not only does it have the dubious and tragic honour of being cinematic great Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final piece of work, but it also boasts a few tempting factors in the mix too- for example, the John Le Carre source material, turns by Rachel MacAdams and Willem Defoe, and a thrilling plot full of twists and turns that will leave your head spinning (in a good way). Directed by Anton Corbijn (who also helmed the Ian Curtis biopic control), the plot and performances are in good hands. A failsafe.
